Viper Squadron is currently one of the three active starfighter squadrons in Phoenix Wing. Being commanded by no other than Warrant Officer Second Class Ibram Tyrol with Chief Petty Officer Sicario at his back. Viper was re-opened in the fall of 2007 after Kaph Squadron, lead by Than Sion at the time was closed due to Than’s retirement. Tomas took the initiative to re-open and command Viper during the fall of 2007, and he did a great job of it as Viper was honored with the “Captain’s Own” award in October of 2007. This award lasted until May 2008 when Nazgul took it from Viper.

Viper Squadron was opened in the earlier days of the Vast Empire, some time around 2000. But it was later closed due supposedly due to lack of members, and the opening of another Squadron. But in the fall of 2007 the navy was in dire straits, each squadron was lacking members, and in one squadron the leader had left entirely. That was when the Naval High Command took the decision to close Kaph Squadron and give two pilots a new squadron, with their choice of name. Tomas Dagoram, one of the pilots chose to re-open the closed Viper Squadron. Starting with a low membership of 6, Viper Squadron was soon given the “Captains Own” award in October of that same year.
